Tokyo Go Kart Track — What the Session Includes
The only Tokyo go kart track on GetYourGuide is New Tokyo Circuit in Ichihara, Chiba, about 60 minutes from central Tokyo. IGNIS RACING runs the session, and the listing has ★5.0 from 10 reviews. It is a closed circuit, so no road license, passport or IDP check applies.
- 1Make your own way there — no pickup; arrive 30 minutes early
- 2Collect racing suit, helmet and gloves at reception
- 3Safety briefing and coaching from staff
- 4Unlimited laps in the Midday Session, 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
The listing header says 8 hours, but the session included in the booking is the 90-minute Midday Session. Full-day and half-day sessions are available on request if you message the operator before booking. Fuel is included; the facility fee, damage insurance and lap timer cost extra.
High Speed Go Kart Racing — Tokyo Circuit, 120 km/h
The adult kart reaches up to 120 km/h, about twice the roughly 60 km/h that street-kart listings quote for public roads. It is the only Tokyo go-kart product sold per group, and it cost ¥26,400 (≈$168) for 15 October 2026, the same as its "from" price.
The listing isn't fully consistent: it calls the slower kart both a Lights Kart and a Junior Kart, and one paragraph gives the venue's top speed as 100 km/h. Ask the operator which kart you get. Reviewers praise the coaching — one June 2026 driver cut his lap from 55 to 52 seconds with coach Hide.
Tokyo Go Kart Racing vs a Street Tour
Tokyo go kart racing and a street tour share a name but little else: the track needs no license and takes drivers from 6, while all 24 street tours need a license, a passport and a 1949 IDP. Most street tours last about an hour in the city; the track adds about 60 minutes each way to Chiba.
If you have the documents and want the city, pick a street tour. If you lack the IDP, are under 18, or want speed more than sights, the circuit is the only option that fits.

None of the 25 go-kart products on GetYourGuide in Tokyo is an indoor venue. The 24 street tours run on public roads, and New Tokyo Circuit is weather-dependent: the listing refunds you in full if poor weather cancels the session.
Rain doesn't always stop it. In September 2026 Grant wrote that he drove in the rain and still got close to a 58-second lap, calling the kart "by far the fastest one I've ever been on". The decision to cancel is the operator's.
We compare only what GetYourGuide sells, so we can't recommend an indoor karting hall in Tokyo. If weather worries you, check your option's free-cancellation window before you pay: on the track it runs to 24 hours before the session.
Rainy and typhoon months for karting are on the when-to-go guide.
