Official Japan Go-Kart Through Shibuya Shinjuku — Who It Suits

This tour suits drivers who want 2–3 hours across central Tokyo rather than a Shibuya-only hour. The itinerary, marked “for reference only”, starts from one of two locations and lists the Imperial Palace, Shibuya Crossing, Roppongi, a break at Tokyo Tower and a photo stop at Tokyo Station. The two options are a 90-minute Shibuya, Harajuku, Omotesando and Kabukicho loop and a 2-hour Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station route.

¥21,000 · 2–3 hThis tour. ★4.8 from 202 reviews; break at Tokyo Tower.
¥15,700 · 1 hourShinjuku to Shibuya. ★4.8 from 348 reviews.
¥16,000 · 2.5 hEast Tokyo, Tokyo Bay and Ginza option, by the same operator.

Options didn't load, so we can't say which of the 90-minute and 2-hour routes the ¥21,000 buys; check both against the ¥15,700 hour from Shinjuku to Shibuya. The same operator's East Tokyo listing is cheaper still: ¥16,000 (≈$102) for 2.5 hours, without Shibuya Crossing. The option list here did not load for our check, so confirm times and price in the calendar.

What Reviewers Praise and Criticize

Reviewers praise the organization above all: the sub-scores are 4.9 for the guide, 4.9 for transportation and 4.8 for value, and all ten recent reviews in our sample give 5 stars. They mention washed costumes, regular photo stops and a group that stays together.

In their words“managed to stay together the whole time so no waiting for others” — Joe, June 2026“My family of 10 felt safe the entire time.” — Robert, April 2026“If you go to the Shinjuku rendezvous point, you have to go to the 3rd floor of the building for check in.” — Joost, May 2026

None of the ten sampled reviews contains a complaint. The warning worth heeding comes from Joost, who saw drivers without the right papers turned away with a voucher for the next time, and the listing says no hard-copy IDP means no reimbursement. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before is the safety net, so check your papers before it closes.

“Karting through Tokyo was an absolute blast and easily one of the most memorable things I did on the trip. Driving through the city at night, surrounded by the lights and energy of Tokyo, was an experience unlike anything else. The staff did a great job making everything feel organized, safe, and fun from start to finish. The route was fantastic, the karts were easy to handle, and getting to see Tokyo from that perspective was incredible. If you’re looking for something exciting and different to do in Tokyo, I highly recommend it. It’s the kind of experience you’ll be talking about long after the trip is over.”
